Requirements

The QuickSwitch solution is designed to co-exist with your existing network infrastructure, saving you time and money on installation costs.
The unit itself requires access to one standard network cable socket on your Modem/Router/Switch.
QuickSwitch handsets all have the ability to "pass-through" the network connection, so additional network ports should not be required if you are using existing network termination points (such as locations where there is already a networked PC).
Please see below for examples of how to connect a QuickSwitch PBX Kit.

If you plan to take advantage of the VOIP features of the QuickSwitch unit you will be required to have a broadband Internet service of at least 512/256 kbps for up to 4 simultaneous VOIP calls or 512/512 kbps for up to 10 simultaneous VOIP calls.
It is possible to share your existing broadband connection provided that your modem/router has built in QOS (Quality of service) features. Most modern modem/routers do.

How to assemble/Connect

Be up and running in only minutes.
Assembly is so simple that all you need to do is plug in the network and power cables and away you go.

QuickSwitch PBX Kits are so flexible that there are several ways to connect them. Below is a general example. For more option, details and diagrams please click here

Step by step...

1. Plug the blue network cable (supplied) from your QuickSwitch PBX unit to your existing network switch/router (there is only one pont on the PBX unit that can take this cable and any spare point on your switch/router will do). Note, any network (CAT5) cable is suitable
2. Plug the power into the QuickSwitch PBX unit - The PWR and other the lights will come on
3. Plug your telephone line into the port labeled Port1. If you have more than one line plug the subsequent lines into Ports 2 and 3
4. If you have a cordless phone plug this into Port 4
5. Your QuickSwitch PBX should be now online. Try calling your telephone number from your mobile phone to see if the PBX picks up the call

Now you can install the handset units

1. Unpack the first handset unit (either will do)
2. Plug the handset earpiece into the bottom of the phone into the jack indicated by the handset icon
3. If you have an existing networked PC at the same location as the handset you should now unplug the PC's network cable and plug it into the rear of the phone into the socket labeled WAN or NET, then take the short black network cable (supplied) and connect it from the phones PC socket to the rear of the PC (thus making the circuit complete)
So the cabling would go from Router/Switch --> Phone WAN/NET then Phone PC --> PC
4. If you don't have a PC at this station you simply need to connect the phone from the WAN/NET port to any available port on your router/switch using any network (CAT5) cable of a suitable length
5. Connect the power to the rear of the phone
6. The phone will go through a start up process that may take up to 60 seconds. The phone is ready when your extension number (either 101 or 102) can be seen on the screen. If NR is seen on the screen for longer than a further 60 seconds please contact QuickSwitch support
7. Test the phone by dialing 899 followed by pressing the tick (dial). You should hear hold music

More detailed instructions including a diagram are included in the QuickSwitch PBX DIY Kit
